The principles that Japanese designers employ in their products, and the way in which they influence culture, creating an aesthetic presence in Japan, is unparalleled around the world.  I spent the first half of my Honours year researching Japanese design philosophies and methodologies, in order to develop this set of design principles for non-Japanese designers. 

In the second half of my Honours year I put my principles to the test, designing a range of products for the laundry - a product area in great need of aesthetic innovation.
